Hubbles Yard Cafe in East Fremantle | Food Review

Hubbles Yard Cafe - Mums Eggs - Chilli Scrambled Eggs

Tucked away in East Freo is a cute corner cafe, Hubbles Yard. My partner had visited years ago and wanted to return to see if was just as he remembered. There was plenty of street parking when we visited however you may have to travel to a nearby street to park.

As it wasn’t too cold we decided to grab one of the tables outside and enjoy a little sun. I placed our order at the counter after looking through the menu for a little while. I loved that the instruction to place orders at the counter was noted on the menu. There have been so many times where I couldn’t work out if the cafe took the order from the table or if you had to go up to the counter.

We both ordered a cappuccino which was delicious.

I ordered Mums Eggs, which was broken scrambled eggs with fried potatoes and chilli. The eggs were perfectly cooked and had so much flavour and the perfect amount of spice. Just enough to leave a little tingle and not so much that your head gets blown off. The small bits of potato added such a nice contrast in texture and flavour. Even the toast was delicious, having soaked up all the delicious flavours. It was a dish that I would 100% order again!

My partner ordered the Yard plate, of course removing the egg. Adding some mushrooms to the plate. Each element was really well done. The beans were so tasty and the hashbrowns were different but really good as well. He really enjoyed the dish!

Overall

The friendly service and local atmosphere coupled with some delicious food really made for a great experience, at a great price point. If you haven’t visited Hubbles Yard Cafe, I recommend giving it a go!
