With so many removers available it can be hard to know which one to buy. Some stores will carry just a few from the same company, others will have 10 different brands! So how do you know which one is best? Does it really matter which brand or can the cheapest be purchased? Which ones are harsh or gentle? There are so many considerations when purchasing remover. I hope the following review will give you some options and insights into what products might work best for you.
I’m not really particular to a brand and will generally purchase based on price and brands that I know are good. However, my main rule when purchasing is to buy remover that is Acetone free.

Face of Australia – Avg Score 4.25
The Face of Australia Nail Polish remover is one of my favourites. It’s not harsh on my nails and doesn’t have the horrible smell like most removers. It’s almost as if they have added perfume to the remover. It works well and takes the polish off easily. This has become one of my go-to removers when I can find it as not all stores stock this brand.

Sally Hansen – Avg Score 3.5
I love the bottle for Sally Hansen’s nail polish remover. Whilst it’s the same design seen in many other products, that s what is great about it. I can recognise it straight away. The only issue is if I’m cotton tips its a little hard to get the tip into the bottle. The remover itself works really well and isn’t as harsh as some removers that I have used.

Beauty Essentials (Priceline Australia) – Avg Score 3.75
I bought this one when Priceline where having a massive sale. Even without the discount, this remover is quite cheap. More importantly, it works pretty well. However, in contrast to Face of Australia, it takes a little more effort to remove the nail polish.

Beauty Care (Kmart Australia) – Avg score 3
In contrast to all of the removers I have talked about so far, this one is by far the cheapest at $2 (AUD) a bottle. This is great for a casual user or for an emergency. However, I really noticed the cheapness of the product and so it wouldn’t be one that I would purchase again unless I was desperate.

Cutex – Avg Score 3.5
This is probably one of the most well-known removers (at least in Australia it is). I also have a bit of a soft spot for it as it was the first remover that I used. The removal process is fairly easy. My only issue with it is that it smells so bad! Additionally, it can be a bit pricy depending on where it’s purchased.
