Like some of my other Halloween designs, this started out with me selecting the base colour and stamping plate. I was so tempted to just leave the base as is as it’s such a pretty colour. However, I also wanted to create more Halloween Nail art! In the end, I decided to proceed with creating this 2-in-1 design, with one hand focused on lollies and the other hand focused on more spooky images to create a Candy and Witches Halloween Nail Art Design.
Spooky Purple Base
Using Maybelline new york 67 – wonder violet, I applied two coats of this beautiful purple to create the base for this design. The first coat of this shade I found was a little streaky. However, it looked perfect by the 2nd coat.
The colour is absolutely stunning. It’s a great shade for Halloween and something that I could see myself wearing on its own as the metallic/shiny features look amazing!
Candy and Witches Halloween Nail Art
For the stamping, I’m again using Maniology plate M253, as I really wanted to do a full reverse stamping design (use code THENAILCHRONICLE to get 10% off Maniology)
Unfortunately while using my little claw grabber to clean the plate (I’m trying to avoid touching nail polish remover atm due to having a bit of a reaction), I accidentally scratched the plate. When I realised this, I just hoped that it doesn’t affect the images where the scratch is located. Luckily it seems like the images are still able to be picked up.
This design used a lot of different colours, so I’ll just share the colours used on two of the reversed images. The candy corn and witch image were created first as an experiment to check that the black outline would be able to be seen against the dark purple.
Candy Corn
- Rubi Nail Enable – Gold Glitter (not sure of the actual name, as there wasn’t anything on the bottle)
- OPI – The IT Colour
- Maybelline – Coral Craze
Witch
- Maybelline – Coral Craze
- Hit the bottle – Iced Mauve-Jito 2.0
- Rubi Nail Enable – Gold Glitter
- Hit the bottle – Blueberry Dewdrops
Overall
I had a lot of fun creating this Candy and Witches Halloween Nail Art design, I had heaps of time on my hands so it was nice to relax and just create!
Let me know in the comments which hand you prefer the lollies or ghosts/witches’ nails.
