My nail growth journey

So about 2 weeks ago, I decided to cut my nails and let’s just say it was quite a bit shorter then I was planning. So I’ve gone back to my nail growth routine to repair the damage. Over on my Instagram I’ve been tracking my progress and heaps of people have been asking how my nails are so long and strong. I’m hoping this posts answers your questions. If you have any question let me know in the comments below.

Before I tell you my growth strategy I wish to let you know this is my own personal plan. It may not work for everyone but this does work for me. There are two parts to my plan. Strength and flexibility. Read below to find out more.

Part 1 – Strength

This was one of my key challenges in getting my nails to grow long. They would continually break and never be able to get to a decent length until I started to use strengthing polishes. I use a combination of both growth and strengthening polish by Sally Hasen. These products work amazingly and I can start to notice the use after a few days of use.

Part 2 – Flexibility

If your nails are too hard then they will be more likely to snap. This is where a nail oil or balm can help. It also helps to soften your cuticles. I use a balm and oil by RandM nails.

Other things to consider

Sometimes it doesn’t hurt to cut your nails back if you find that they are breaking a lot.

More importantly, remember that nail growth takes time. Be patient, everyone’s nails grow at different rates.

  1. Thank you for liking my instagram post. I am a slow new nail art learner and any tipa are eagerly devoured. What do you suggest I protect the tips of my poor indes nails with? They have both broken off and have split. I am a leftie too! *PUNCHES AIR WITH LEFT HAND*

    1. Hi sorry for the late reply I only just saw this comment!

The best thing is to let them grow slowly, and build up their own strength. This might even might cutting/filling them back so that they have time to develop strength whilst applying nail hardeners or strength polishes. I still have one nail that will be forever a little shorter then the rest. But that’s ok, because everyone’s nails are different.

      Go lefties!!
