I’m feeling incredibly spoilt these last few weeks. Not only did my very first order of Glam polish arrive, one of my friends has leant me two colours from the Moon Shine Mani collection to try out. Cowabunga, a bright green colour and Cool for the Summer a beautiful blue.
Moon Shine Mani was created by YouTuber Phoebe Moon who for many years has reviewed polishes. She decided to create her own line of polish. If you haven’t seen her videos I highly recommend checking her out (I’ll add the links at the end of this post).
Cowabunga
I fell in love with this colour the very moment I laid my eyes on it. The beautiful green has a sheen of pink throughout it. Although I had trouble seeing it on my nails. Despite this, I still love this colour. The formula is quite thick, so I took care to apply a thin layer to ensure it would dry. It only required two coats to become opaque.
I also had some additional stamping polish to try out so I decided to add some stamping over the top.
Cool for the Summer
At first glance cool for the summer seemed like any other blue but as I got closer I discovered tiny flecks of glitter. As soon as I noticed the glitter I knew that I had to give this colour a go. I found the drying time a lot quicker then Cowabunga and the formula felt a little thinner. I also love the addition of the subtle glitter. There are some large pieces of the glitter which adds a unique texture to the polish without being too overpowering.
On my nails, this colour looks just as stunning as it does in the bottle and after two coats I was ready to go! I haven’t applied any nail art to this colour but it’s such a nice colour that I really don’t mind leaving it as is. Sadly at the time of writing, I couldn’t take many photos of this one as my hands seemed to be having a bit of a reaction to something and so they were quite red and blotchy. However I’m sure I will be able to take more pictures during the week, so keep an eye out on my Instagram page.
Summary
Over I loved the Moon Shine Mani polishes. My favourite was certainly Cool for the Summer. However, I had heaps of fun playing with Cowabunga. The formula was nice and the polish barely chipped. This polish will certainly be on my radar for future purchases (after I get through my current batch of nail mail).
