Ok…I know that the title is a bit clickbaity but well you’re here now. Honestly, these are some life hacks/tips that have been reinforced by doing my nails. I know this might sound odd but bear with me. I hope you enjoy my 9 Life Lessons Learnt from Nail Art.
9 Life Lessons Learnt from Nail Art
1. Do chores first.
Hands up if you have damaged a newly completed design from housework!! I certainly have. This is why I always try to complete my housework before doing my nails. This also applies to life in general. Get the tasks that must be done completed first to ensure they are completed. For example, going to the Gym in the morning is more likely to happen than if you go after work.
2. Take time for self-care
This has been popping up a lot of late and for a good reason. With life being incredibly busy many of us forget to slow down. So take a break and do something you enjoy. In my case, my nail art forms a part of my self-care. I create designs that I love and take some time to slow down and focus on a single activity.
3. Try new things
I had this idea from my reluctant to try new designs or techniques. Recently I tried using the technique where a Lint roller is used to clean a nail stamper. I have known of this technique for quite a while but never believed it would work. I wish that I had tried this ages ago. So the lesson here is to just give things a go. It could be anything. Trying new foods, visiting a new place or trying out a new activity.
4. Have a hobby
This lesson relates to self-care a little in that having a hobby has many benefits. A hobby could be anything from nail art, music, sports, arts, blogging or gaming. The list is endless. If you’re looking for ideas take a look at https://hobbyism.co.uk for ideas. While you’re there keep an eye out for my guest post featuring a nail art tutorial.
5. Get some time outside
I’ve picked up this lesson from noticing that some of my nail art pictures look better when taken in the sunshine. Getting a few minutes each day ensures that you get your daily dose of VitD which helps with bones and muscles. If you can try to spend at least 15 minutes outside each day and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
6. Ask for help
I’m still learning heaps and there is no shame in asking for help. This applies to any topic. In the case of nail art, I’ve asked about a suitable nail oil/balm and ended up being recommended an amazing product that I would have never known of if I didn’t ask.
7. You don’t need to spend a lot on nail art or other products
This comes back to the old saying that you don’t need a lot to have fun! In the case of nail art, amazing designs can be created with limited resources. If you’re looking for something to do try exploring your local area or a close by town. Some of the most amazing sights could be right on your doorstep.
8. Don’t be afraid of mess
Sometimes nail art can be messy. However, it doesn’t matter because it can be easily cleaned up. This applies to so many other activities in life. Building sites are messy but eventually beautiful homes are created. Baking can result in flour covering everything in the kitchen (especially if it’s myself cooking) yet amazing food is created. So get your hands dirty and create something amazing!
9. Have Fun!
Lastly no matter what you’re doing have fun and enjoy yourself!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments if you have any other life lessons.
