I’ve had this polish for over a month now but I haven’t had the chance to use this yet. It looks so pretty in the bottle and the swatches really intrigued me. I initially used this the week before for some reverse stamping and know that I had to use it for a full mani. I decided to stick with the single colour and not do any stamping just to keep things simple this week as I had a long week and didn’t have much time to do a full design. That’s another reason why I chose the colour. The shifting and colour of the polish in the bottle were stunning and I thought it would look amazing even on its own.
Deep End
I started with a thin layer for the first coat. It was quite sheer but at this point, I wasn’t too worried. I then applied another two coats. Unfortunately, it was still sheer particularly on the tips of my nails. I had to apply a fourth coat and even after the fourth coat it was still a little sheer. At this point, I gave up. I didn’t feel like applying a fifth coat, especially as this was meant to be a quick mani. For the next time that I use Deep End, I will be using a dark base coat, most likely a very dark blue.
Despite the incredible sheerness to the Deep End polish, I love the colour. The way it shifts in the light as is expected with ILNP polishes. Adding to the shifting was beautiful holo glitter.
I was expecting the polish to be hard to remove mostly because of a large number of layers. Yet after a short soak in nail polish remover, the polish was relatively easy to remove.
Overall (3.8/5)
Overall I love the colours from Deep End. However, the sheerness was really disappointing. For this reason, I dropped the value for money rating as I am going to have to use more layers for each mani. Other then that that I’m pretty happy with this polish.
