Blue with a hint of ocean green. Beach Bum Blu has an amazing ocean colour that I could just float in all day. The polish is quite thick and not sheer. Despite the thickness, Beach Bum Blu was able to be applied with thin layers ensuring it dried quickly.
Beach Bum Blu
As I use more Essie’s polish I find that I am starting to really like the way it applies to each nail. Its fluidness spreads over each nail smoothly ensuring that the entire nail is covered. When I first used Essie polish this aspect annoyed me a little as I wasn’t expecting it. However, now that I have gotten used to it I find it to be quite a useful feature of the polish.
Because of the thickness and limited sheerness of the polish I only needed two coats. One coat would have also worked, however, I have mentioned in previous posts I prefer to apply two coats to maximise the time the design. After seeing the polish dry I almost left it as is. I love the shimmer and metallic colours that came through.
However, I was in the mood for some stamping and so I added some butterfly and flower stamps. I forgot about the large curves of my nails and so by placing the butterflies right on the edge, it made it harder show as a full butterfly.
Overall – (4.2/5)
I love the colour and the polish itself holds up to the same quality that I have seen with other Essie polishes.

This is a gorgeous colour! I adore anything blue and this colour is perfect on your nails. I’ve heard good things about Essie nail polishes, I must use them myself.
