I’m so excited about this design as my new Christmas plate from Maniology arrived during the week. This design uses quite a bit of reverse stamping. I also picked up a few Aussie plates and butterfly plates.
Holo Christmas
It wouldn’t be Christmas without some sparkle! In this case, it comes in the form of holo. Using ILNP – New day for the base I set out to create my 3rd 2018 Christmas Nail Art Design. New Day is a light blue that reminds me of cold snow. The holo will only show itself in the right conditions. However, this made it perfect for work.
The reverse stamping used plate M039. I selected a few images to apply and started to stamp them onto the stamping mat (get your own stamping mat here). Instead of using a brush I used a dotting tool. Rather than brushing the paint on I used a dabbing motion. I’m finding this technique is a lot easier to use.
After allowing the paint to dry I added my top coat to the image so that once that had dried I could apply it to my nails. I used tweezers to both pick up and apply the image. It was a little hard to get the image in the correct location but I think I managed to get it pretty uniform.
I then moved onto the top coat. I have found that reverse stamped images are less likely to smudge when applying top coat which is an added bonus.
Overall
I love the effect of the base colour and how cute the stamps are! Especially the gingerbread men.
