My Partner sent me a very dangerous text. There was a pop-up stall selling make up and seemed to also have a bit of nail polish fairly cheap. So after some careful planning, I was able to get to the stall after work, before they closed. I picked up two L’oreal Paris nail polishes, a green and a flecked top coat. This review will focus on the top coat.
L’oreal Paris Nail Polish – Top Coat
So this top coat has a cream shade and a white fleck that really caught my eye! I couldn’t resist getting it so it went in my basket. The polish itself only cost $2. It doesn’t seem to have a name on the bottle so I’m not really sure what its called.
For the swatches, I used a clear polish, peach coloured polish and green polish (also L’oreal).
I was expecting the top coat to work really well on the peach polish but unfortunately, the flecks blended in a little too much and so it ended up looking like a really rough paint job. However, on the green, this is where the polish really shined. It added some depth to the polish and created a snow/glitter effect without using glitter. On its own, it could pass as a minimalist polish which was very in fashion during 2018.
The polish is really easy to apply and felt smooth despite the big flecks. The only issue I had was trying to pick up the bigger flecks on the brush. I also had the issue where at one stage I couldn’t get any flecks on the brush. To fix this I closed the lid and gave the polish a little shake. This helped fix the issue but was still a little annoying.
Overall
Overall I love this topcoat. It’s very classy and the lightness of the fleck doesn’t intrude on the nail. If you get a top coat similar to this I highly recommend testing it out before putting on your nails just to ensure the colour matches.
