Moon Nail Art | Glow in the dark nails

Continuing on my journey to use my stamping plates at least once I scanned my collection to see what would jump out. I was thinking to do a Mardi-Gra design but I leave that till next weekend. The plate that stood out to me was one from the Bundle Monster (aka Maniology) Halloween collection, plate BM-S247. This is a woof themed plate filled with a row of different moons. After seeing this I immediately wanted to try and create a Moon Nail Art design.

The other polish that has been attracting me is one of my glow in the dark polishes that has been really glowing lately. I’m going to move the others to that spot to see if it makes a difference to the glow level.

Starting out with a black base to keep this design simple I applied two coats and allowed them to fully dry. The glow in the dark polish is a little gloopy and so it was vital that the underlayer was fully dry before applying it.

I then applied the glow in the dark polish. The glow in the dark polish was one I picked up from K-Mart on sale from a Halloween pack about 18 months ago. I did this before stamping so that the moon shape would hopefully show up on my nail in the dark.  Surprisingly after all my shaking of the polish due to it separating, it had thinned out quite a bit making it easy to apply. I decided to apply two coats to ensure full coverage as it was difficult to see if I had missed a spot.

Using Konad stamping polish in white I applied a moon to each nail. I used a clear stamper for this design so that I could align the moon exactly where I wanted. I follow this by a clear top coat.

Overall

I’m really happy with how this design turned out! I’ve seen quite a few moon nails of late and really wanted to give it a go. For more images of my moon nails check out my IG: @theNailChronicle or for some real moon pictures check out my other IG @food_travel_chronicle
