I’m sorry if you came here looking for a food post, don’t worry I will be writing one soon. I am way overdue with my food/travel posts. What I do have instead is my ice-cream nail art design for @brokegirl_nails 2 year anniversary. The theme was food and that was the only guidance we had for this collaboration. That resulted in everyone having their own interpretations and the designs were quite varied.
The Design
I found some really cute ice cream decals in a small shop about a month ago, so this was the perfect opportunity to use them. It looks like someone else also found the same ones as they had the exact same decals. This was ok though as we had used them in completely different ways.
For the base I used a light peach colour, wanting to keep to a summer/spring vibe with the design.
The decals also came with some speckled strips that looked like little sprinkles. So to have a bit of variety I also popped them on my nails. It was a little tricky to cut the right length but taking my time I did an ok job.
Apply the ice cream as this was meant to be a ‘fun summer’ design I ensure to not have them all going in the same direction. Rather having them on varied angles for each nail. I really liked that the decals fit well on each nail.
Once I was happy with the design I applied a top coat. I added an extra few top coats to ensure the decals didn’t fall off which I haven’t have happened yet!
Tutorial
For this post, I thought I would include my tutorial instead of typing! I hope you like this format.
Overall
I’m really pleased with how this design turned out. I am glad I stuck to a simple base so that the ice cream stood out on my nails. It was great to use decals again after quite a while. They are such an easy way to create a beautiful design really quickly.
Let me know in the comments what do you think about nail decals?
