This journey started with one of my dangerous trips to Priceline. Luckily I was quite controlled and only purchased two polishes both L’Oreal Paris, including the colour Bleu Royal. I wasn’t sure how this would work out given that L’Oreal Paris isn’t known for their nail polish. However, I know that their other products are great and so I decided to give this a shot.
Bleu Royal
As I applied the polish it went on really smoothly and evenly over the nail. I tried to keep each layer thin so that it would dry, unfortunately, the thick formula made this difficult. This resulted in the drying time being a bit on the long side but definitely not the worst drying time I’ve come across.
The colour, a beautiful dark blue was opaque and I could have gotten away with a single coat. The polish has a beautiful shiny finish without applying a single coat of top coat. In the end, I decided to apply two coats to ensure that it would last the full week.
Overall (4.2/5)
This was such a beautiful colour and I’m glad that I just swatched it for this review. After a full on week, I didn’t have the energy for nail art, so this was the perfect colour to just leave as is. In terms of the bottle design, it adds a touch of elegance to the polish and gives a luxurious feel. This is exactly what you would expect from L’Oreal Paris. I do wish the formula was slightly thinner. At $5-$10 AUD a bottle, the price is great.
It will be interesting to see what the second colour is like. I’m really hoping that the thickness is just a one-off.
