We have walked past Ice Cube Sweet, Wentworth Point quite a bit and after seeing a 15% off voucher in the back of a real estate magazine we decided to give it a go. It seems this place is always shut. Our first attempt to visit at about 12 pm on Saturday failed, as the store seemed to still be closed. The lack of opening hours is quite odd. On Sunday we were finally able to visit.
Ice Cube Sweet – Service and Atmosphere
With chairs stacked up, we initially thought the shop was shut however as we walked closer, we saw the door was open. However, I was still unsure if it was open as I couldn’t see anyone in the store. My partner managed to spot the person who was seated. As I entered the store the attendant was distracted watching a TV show so I grabbed her attention. The service was ok after this. Although the attendant should at least be standing or insight so that it looks like the store is open.
We ordered matcha shaved ice. We were informed that they were out the toppings except for the Red bean, which was ok as both my partner and I are fans of red bean.
After ordering we sat down outside. The table appeared quite rough, which was odd as they have only been opened for about a year. I’m guessing the table was taken from another store.
Matcha Shaved Ice
The shaved ice was brought out, unfortunately, Ice Cube Sweet was also out of the red bean. So I was given a partial refund. The ice was nicely flavoured with matcha. The ice was soft and creamy, which based on other YouTube videos I’ve seen is exactly how it should be. I wasn’t sure though as this was my first experience with this dish.

The matcha shaved ice at Ice Cube Sweet had a nice flavour but the service, appearance of being shut and lack sides really lets the store down. I hope that things can improve as this store has a lot of potential.
