Continuing on my quest (yes it’s now become a quest) to use all of my plates at least once I started this design by looking at my plates. I have been looking at BM-605 for months but I just wasn’t sure how I would use it. It has nice gaps for reverse stamping. The pattern is complex which means it could be left as is. Finally, it clicked and I knew exactly how I would use this plate. Or so I thought. This is how I created my Funky Peach Nail Art.

The Base

Natio colour Dune was used for the base. It’s a light peach nude that has just the right amount of colour yet not be too overpowering. For this design, it works really well as the patterns are complex I didn’t want to use a bright colour. Rather I wanted to let the pattern shine on its own accord. It was rather ironic that I used this colour as I happened to be watching the movie Dune at the same time, by complete coincidence!

I won’t go into too much detail about Dune here as I have written a review before (Dune review). What I will say is that it is just as good as when I first used it.

I really struggled to know what to call this one hence the very wordy name. Using maniology plate BM-605. I began stamping the image onto my mat with the intention of adding some sparkly blue in spots. At this stage, I also stamped a few images directly onto my nails. I decided here, that I really liked the black stamped on the pink and so I dropped the idea of adding blue and just stamped the images directly on my nails.

Initially, I used my Konad solid stamper. Unfortunately, almost every image was distorted or smudged. So I had to start again. I find it so disheartening when this happens. For attempt 2, I used my Beauty Big Bang clear stamper and the result was instantly better. The images were sharp and exactly how they should be. I wish I had just used the clear stamper, to begin with. At least, in the end, it worked out.

Overall

After the drama of having to start from scratch, I’m really pleased with how this design turned out. I think that it looks quite cool! What do you think?
