Continuing with the Ombres this week, I’ve returned back to the more traditional down the nail as compared to across the nail that I did a few weeks back. I created this as part of a birthday collaboration where the birthday girl liked the colour green and travelling/scuba diving. So I went with the travel theme as I have the perfect plate to create a green travel ombre nail art design.

Green Ombre
For this Ombre, I used just two shades of green to change things up a bit. For the dark green I used Nails Inc – Queen Victoria Steet and OPI – My dog sled is a hybrid. With all ombre designs, I start by applying the lightest colour on my nail to create a base. This helps to create a solid colour.
After allowing the base to dry, I added a latex barrier to reduce the amount of clean up. I then applied two stripes of the polish before dabbing it on. It’s best to wait for the polish to dry before applying additional layers.
Once happy with the coverage I added a topcoat.
Reverse Stamping – Travel decals
To create the travel decals I used Maniology plate Kawaii Emoji BM-XL321. I used black Konad stamping polish to add the outlines to my stamping mat. I decided to use bright colours to fill in the shapes with a dotting tool. Having let the images dry a little I applied a clear coat and allowing it to dry. I then picked up each image with tweezers placing it on my nail. Because the polish was still tacky it stuck down pretty well.
Letting it set I then added a final clear coat to the design.
Overall
I really love how this Green Travel Ombre Nail Art design turned out. The plate is one of my favourites with such cute designs. For the next time I use this plate, I want to try using pastel colours.
What colours would you use? Let me know in the comments.
