Continuing with swatching of the new colours that I got for my birthday, I’m trying out OPI Gelato on My Mind. This is a beautiful pastel blue polish. I wasn’t quite sure what nail art I was going so I decided to apply my first coat and go from there.
OPI – Gelato on my mind
I started this design with just a single coat of Gelato on my mind. The beautiful blue shade showed on the first coat. It was quite opaque but needed a second coat.
Wanting to keep things simple I decided that for the nail art I would just create an accent nail using ILNP polish Aerial View. I applied two coats of this over the top of the single coat of Gelato on my mind.
For my remaining nails, I ended up with a total of three coats. While I could have quite easily gotten away with two coats I felt that the third coat made the colour pop even more.
The colour itself is so pretty and will be perfect for the spring which is just a few months away. The polish is similar to most OPI formulas that you might come across meaning that it dried quickly. It lasted the full week with barely a chip except for my thumbnail which I’ve been having issues with. Luckily the problem spot has nearly grown out.
I’m glad that I kept the nail art simple for this mani, although it could just have much worked with some more detailed nail art.
Overall
This is a beautiful shade that will make many more appearances especially as spring is just around the corner.
Let me know in the comments would you take the accent nail option, add some nail art or leave it plain?
