After seeing all of the cute bumble bee nail art I knew that I wanted to get a stamping plate featuring bees. Maniology have recently released a set of choose your own design and one of them included bees!! Seeing as the exchange rate was improving I thought why not and grabbed a whole bunch of plates that you will see over the next few weeks including a unicorn plate that I tried out in my last post. So here I am creating cute Bumble Bee Nails.

All about that base
I decided to go with a classic yellow for this design. Most colours would work especially if you are doing reverse stamping. I just felt like keeping it simple with yellow! So I selected a David Jones branded polish called Souzize. This is a spring style yellow that isn’t super bright/fluro and isn’t really a pastel shade. I felt that it would be best for this design.
The polish has an odd brush shape which takes a bit to get used to, so my first few nails were quite messy. But that’s ok, that is what nail polish remover is for!
Bumble Bee Nail Art
Accents nails are something I haven’t done for a little while and seeing as I had a glitter collab for YouTube coming up I decided to kill two birds with one stone. On my left hand, I used Nails Inc – Sloane Square a black-based glitter with flecks of holo in it. On my right hand, I applied OPI – Many Celebrations to go. Then over the top, I added Chill Zone from a nebula afar a thick gold glitter polish. For more details on my favourite glitter polish check out the YouTube vid below.
The second part of this design used Maniology plate CYO X Maniology – M093 (use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology). I kept the stamping simple and chose not to do any reverse stamping. The images picked up really and I was able to use my monocle stamper which made placement easy as the stamper is clear.
If you don’t have a bee stamping plate an easy way to create the bee design is to do some dots creating a flight pattern and put some black stripes on one of your nails. Check out my non-stamped design here: How To: Cute Bumble Bee Nails
Summary
This was such a fun design to create! With spring just around the corner, I can see myself using this plate again, perhaps doing some reverse stamping.
