As part of my Halloween 2020 series I also wanted to do a few simple designs without any reverse stamping. So I set out to create a Scary Movie Nail Art design.

Vampires Don’t Sparkle
For reasons which I don’t know Fired Up by ILNP was calling out to me which is actually where this design started. I had a few plates that I could choose from so I applied Fired up with much of a plan in place.
Given the amount of glitter in the polish and that I know this one can be a bit of a pain to remove I decided to use UNT Peel off base coat. For me personally, 3 coats work the best. I know most people only need 1-2 coats. I don’t always get the nice peel but it still makes the removal of glitter polishes so much easier.
Scary Movie Nail Art
It took me a while to work out what I was going to do for the nail art. I actually had the base colour on for nearly a week before I decided what I would do. Eventually, I decided to go with the scary movie themed plate.
For the stamping, I was tossing up whether I would use black or red stamping polish. I ended up opting for red. The red I have is quite dark so I wasn’t too worried that the red would be washed out by the strong silver holo polish.
Using plate BM-S243, I stamped a range of different movie titles not wanting any of the nails to be the same (for 10% off Maniology use my code THENAILCHRONICLE). I found with this plate I had to change the angle of the scraper to take less off compared to the newer Maniology plates.
Overall
For such a simple design I loved how it turned out. The red on top of the glittery base looks really cool, it’s almost the colour of blood.
Let me know in the comments what you think of this design.
