I was feeling the spring weather when I created this design and wanted to create something bright and fun! The colour blue was also calling me so I created this blue fish scale design using OPI polish Gelato on my Mind.

Clear Spring Skies – Gelato on My Mind
This design started with the base colour Gelato on My Mind. Opaque in one coat this polish is stunning. The blue is bright and fresh. I used two coats for this design to ensure that it would last for the full week.
The polish didn’t chip and dried really quickly. This has become one of my new favourite blues and I’m sure I’ll be using it a lot this coming summer.

Fish Scale Nail Art
The nail art part of this design started with me selecting a pattern from plate M090 Maniology (use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off at Maniology). I selected a criss-cross style pattern that I thought would look cool over the light blue. The title Fish Scale Nail Art came about after someone commented that they look like fish scales.
To create some colour contrast with Gelato on My Mind I chose my dark blue stamping polish by Konad. The two colours together worked really well. If I was feeling up for it I would have also done a little reverse stamping filling in one or two of the boxes on each nail. I likely would have done this with one solid colour and a glitter polish.

Overall
This design hit the mark for what I was trying to achieve. With the bright fun vibes from OPI Gelato on My Mind and awesome pattern from the Maniology stamping plate, a really cute design was created!
Let me know in the comments what you would have added to the reverse stamping?

Oh that does look really cool 😀
Thankyou!! I love the pattern!!
