This design started with a bday collab where the theme was purple. So I thought why not use the base of what I created for this Christmas design. Its not a traditional Christmas colour but it was a lot of fun and with the little add ons it ended up looking very Christmassy. I hope these cool Christmas nails inspire you to go outside of the box with your design!

The Base – Purple Ombre
There are a few different techniques to create ombre nails. My preferred is using the sponge method. I personally start out with a coat (or two if needed) of the lightest polish on my nail. For this design I used a light purple, OPI Poly Want a Lacquer.
Once the base is dried I then add a strip of dark purple, followed by the light purple on a sponge and dab it on my nails. The dark purple I used was OPI Lost my Bikini in Molokini. Before you start dabbing I strongly recommend applying a latex barrier or some tape around your nail as this will get everywhere over your fingers. The YouTube video below shows this step as well if you’re unsure.
It might look a little rough but don’t worry once you apply a top coat it will smooth out.
To add a little more sparkle and to make theses cool Christmas nails pop instead of adding a plan top coat I added two coats of ILNP topper Abyss which has purple elements to it. Which was perfect for this design.
Cool Christmas Nails
Now to create the cool Christmas Nail Art design. I simply added some stamped Christmas images using Maniology Plate M039, with the Maniology Monocle stamper and Konad black stamping polish.
You don’t necessarily have to do stamping, you could add a dotted Christmas tree as I have here: No Stamping Christmas Nails
To complete the design I added a coat of Maniology Smudge Free top coat.

Overall
These cool Christmas nails were a lot of fun to create! I haven’t quite worked out next weeks design yet, which will be my last Christmas design and I’m a little inspired to change up the colours again.
