St Patrick’s Day Nail Designs | The classic 2021

St Patrick's Day Nail Designs

This year I decided to do two St Patrick Day designs. But I accidentally mixed up the schedule and so both designs will be posted within a few days of each other. In this first design, I chose to do the classic design that appears when every you search for St Patrick’s Day Nail Designs. This is my first time attempting this design, even though it’s been on my list for a while.

St Patrick’s Day Nail Designs – The Base

The base for this required four colours. A light green, white and silver polish. Apply the number of coats required so the polish is fully opaque. These are the colours that I used:

  • Colour by TBN – Mighty Mint
  • OPI – Many Celebrations to Go
  • OPI White – Alpine Snow

The light green should go on the thumb and outer two fingers. Apply the gold and white polish to the two middle fingers. It doesn’t really matter which, make it your own design.

Adding some luck!

For the next stage of this design, I used two stamping plates.

The first is actually a Christmas plate M039 by Maniology (get 10% off Maniology with code THENAILCHRONICLE). I used this to add the gold stripes using the OPI Many Celebrations to go. Given that this isn’t a stamping polish and it’s metallic I was surprised that it stamped so well.

For the second plate, I used the hearts from Konad plate M3 to create the cloverleaf. This can be done by stamping four hearts with the points facing inward (see my post here for more details on this technique). Konad dark green stamping polish was used as I wanted to ensure the leaf was as dark as possible.

Overall

I can see why its a classic design. I really enjoyed wearing this one during the week and other than the cloverleaf where the image just wouldn’t pick up the design was really easy to create.
