This isn’t my first visit to Auburn Botanic Garden. However, it would be very different. On my first visit, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the park put on a large festive. This time there weren’t any blooming flowers, and even better no large crowds especially with the whole virus thing going around. I was looking forward to visiting Auburn Botanic Garden and seeing the garden in a different light.
Auburn Botanic Garden
There are a few different ways to get to Auburn Botanic Garden. Personally this time I drove. However you can take the train, it will just require a little walking to get to the park. When they have special events like the cherry blossom festival then additional public transport services will be available.
Finding the park entry is pretty easy, I just followed the google map directions which is great as I have zero sense of direction. From there you pay a small fee for entry and then you can explore the park.
The garden is easy to get around without getting lost. Plus is pretty accessible with lots of flat paths. There are several different themed areas in the park centred by a lovely lake.
It was also surprising to find a small Fauna reserve including a few emus, kangaroos and peacocks.
I didn’t see much in the way of food close by, so I’d recommend bringing a picnic if you’re wanting some lunch and definitely have some water with especially in summer. I’d also recommend sunscreen as many areas aren’t shaded.
Overall
The park is such a lovely spot. It’s not too crowded outside of major events and is really relaxing. I visited on a Saturday and was expect many more people. If you live in Sydney I strongly recommend visiting this beautiful garden.
Looks amazing, stunning photos 😀
