3I dined at Hakata Gensuke in Vic Park a while back, but it’s taken me a while to get around to writing this blog post for a Hakata Gensuke Ramen Review. I was really craving some ramen and Hakata was the most recommended place to visit, so we gave it a go.
Hakata Gensuke Ramen Review
Vic Park can get quite busy at times, so I tried to book a table. However they have a walk-in only system, so we decided to visit mid-week as I had walked past the shop before and notice the line was pretty long. Despite it being mid-week we still had about a 10-15 minute wait which wasn’t too bad as we were given menus so that we could choose while waiting in line. The ordering system was quite different. You logged onto the website, placed your order and paid all through the app which was pretty cool. I also appreciated being able to customise the ramen. For example, reducing the salt or purchasing extra noodles.
The ramen arrived really quickly. I went with one of their classic dishes, mainly so I had a base to compare against. The noodles had the perfect texture and the broth was so flavourful. Each table was stocked with condiments to add to your ramen including one very spicy vegetable.
This was easily one of the best ramen dishes I have ever had and was well and truly worth waiting for a table. If you’re not keen on a long wait I would suggest going early and mid-week so that you can get in quicker.
Overall
I would 100% return back to Hakata Gensuke Ramen. I’m really keen to try some of their other ramens that they had available. Maybe even grab a few sides as well.
Let me know in the comments, do you like ramen? Have you tried it before?
