Welcome to the 2022 Easter Nail Art Series. Typically my past nail design (see the bottom of the post for links), would use dotting tools or minimal stamping plates as I didn’t have an Easter themed stamping plate. That changed last year when I finally picked up an Easter stamping plate. So for this first design, I set out to create a pastel cute DIY easter nail art design!!
I’m not sure if I will create any designs without the stamping plate, but at least two of the designs will be using the plate this year.
The Base
Keeping with a pastel theme and not quite knowing how this design was going to end up I started with a light sky blue by OPI called Gelato on my Mind.
I added three thin laters of this polish, followed by a topcoat as I didn’t end up adding the stamping until the next day and I really didn’t want to risk chipping the polish overnight.
Cute DIY Easter Nail Art
For this design, I used my one and only Easter stamping plate, Maniology M189 (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off maniology).
This plate features a mix of small layered stamping images, that could also be stamped just with the outline and large size images.
This year is even more exciting as I finally have some pastel stamping polishes from Hit the Bottle so I can go full out on the Easter theme.
The polishes I used include:
- Bubblegum Bliss (pink) – Hit the Bottle
- Blueberry Dewdrops (sky blue) – Hit the Bottle
- Apricot Sour (peach) – Hit the Bottle
- Lemon Meringue (yellow) – Hit the Bottle
- Phantom – B304 (metallic purple) – Maniology
When I first started planning the colours I was thinking of just using pastel shades. However, I saw Phantom and thought that it would look really cool to add a little metal sparkle to the design. Changing it up from the traditional pure pastel colour pallet.
This ended up working out really well! I loved the mix of pastel with bright sparkly purple.
I topped the design with the usual maniology smudge-free top coat and quick dry topcoat!
Overall
Even though a few of the images are a little off it still turned out really cute!!
I love creating Easter designs, because of the beautiful pastel colours that I don’t typically use.
