This Fall Nail Art for 2022 was inspired by one of my new stamping plates, which I’ll go over in more detail below. It’s my first autumn-themed plate and something that I have been eyeing for a while.

Base Colour
I went through my polish collection trying to pick an autumn-themed colour, which I don’t really have many of. So I ended up going with OPI, Love is hot and coal a dark brown shade.
I originally picked this shade up to be used in a chocolate-themed design. But with the lighter Hit the Bottle stamping polishes that I got last year I was hopeful that I would be able to make something work.
Fall Nail Art for 2022 – Stamping Nail Art
The new plate that I purchased was Maniology M164 a fall/autumn stamping plate with a mix of small and large images. (Use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology). Some of the images can be reversed stamped whereas others can’t. There were two key images that I wanted from the plate. The first is the plaid design and the second is the pumpkin image. Both of which will come in use for a number of designs including for Halloween and St Patrick’s Day.
For the stamping, I was really struggling to pick a few colours. I put a bit of the brown polish just to test and found that the dark green blended in too much. The light green was visible but didn’t quite give me the fall vibes that I was looking for. After experimenting with a few more colours I ended up going with the light green by Hit the bottle called Peppermint Zombie. It looked nice just not the exact idea I had in mind.
I also decided to try and do one accent nail. For this, I used a dark green by Konad. I was hoping that after the other colours were added that it wouldn’t matter too much that it was hard to see. Using OPI the IT colour, a yellowy-orange I filled in the pumpkin. And for the leaves, I used Peppermint Zombie. Because the IT colour is a little thin, I waited for it to dry and then added a second coat. The pumpkins and leaf detail came through really nicely. Sadly the parts that weren’t reversed stamped are hard to see and detract from the image a little. However, I do like that it tones down the light green on the other nails, which was the goal of having the accent nail.

Overall
This is my very first Fall/Autumn themed nail art that I have done and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out despite the bright green. Next time I will use a lighter base shade so that I have more colour options and can make it have strong fall vibes.
