This week I was beyond excited that one of my favourite TV shows is back with a prequel. I’m so glad the show is just as good as the original and I can’t wait to see the other episodes. So to celebrate, I’ve created this set of House of Dragon nail art.
The Base
This base colour of the design took me the longest to decide. I didn’t know what colour would work and would make the most sense. I was thinking maybe a red and black theme along the lines of the Targaryen sigil. However, I was sold on it. So after a bit of googling, I settled on a metallic blue as I thought this would work the best with the grey that I would be using for most of the design. The blue I used was Aruba Blue by Essie.
House of Dragon Nail Art
This design uses Creative Shop plate 35 that I picked up last year. It features a mix of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones designs. I set out to create 4 reverse stamped images using Hit the Bottle, Stuck on You. I was worried that the dragon wouldn’t fix fully on my nail, so I decided to do 2 dragons and 2 woofs.
The grey I used, Gris Decadent by L’Oreal Paris is pretty dark. It looks like it’s light enough in the bottle, but I’ve been burnt in the past by not being able to see the black outline of the design. So I added a bit of white polish to lighten it. My intention was that it would only be used for the reverse stamping part of the design. However, I ended up creating way more than I needed so I tried using it to stamp my other nails which surprisingly worked really well.
I love how the grey shows up against the blue. My only issue was accidentally stamping the Game of Thrones text upside down on one of my nails. Ops!
Overall
I love how this House of Dragon Nail Art design turned out. The grey and blue work really well together and I’m so glad that I didn’t lighten the grey too much which I was a little bit worried about.
Let me know in the comments if you are a Game of Thrones Fan.
