So apparently it’s International Chocolate Day on 13 September, so I had to do some nail art. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to create. Still, I already knew one of the images I would be reverse stamping from a Kawaii Emoji Maniology stamping plate to create some International Chocolate Day Nail Art.

The Base
I wanted to use something neutral that would allow me to go in any direction with this design. By this point, I sort of had a bit more of an idea of what I wanted to create but wasn’t set on the colours. So I went with my favourite nude shade Dune by Natio. This light peach shade allows most colours to shine through and only needed two coats.
International Chocolate Day Nail Art
Using Maniology plate, Kawaii Emoji (BM-XL323) I focused on using the chocolate bar image (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology). I also contemplated using the cake and candy/lolly images, but decided to keep it simple with one image. I stamped 10 chocolate images onto my stamping mat and selected 4 metallic shades for the reverse stamping.
The colours include:
- BYS – Mint Ice (green)
- Essie – Beach Bun Blu (Blue)
- Sally Hansen – Blush Rush (Orange)
- Essence Polish – Color 15 (Gold) – this one didn’t have a name on the bottle so I had to guess that this was the correct brand.
I topped the design off with Maniology smudge-free top coat.
When it came to removing them off the mat I did get a little worried as I got a little distracted playing Diablo on my mobile and so they overdried a little. Luckily I was able to lift each image with a little encouragement.
Overall
I’m so glad I went with the metallic colours for this International Chocolate Day Nail Art. It kind of reminds me of the packaging for Yowie chocolates which are similar to kinder surprise eggs.
Will you be having any chocolate treats this Tuesday??
