Classic Gold and Blue Nail Art

Classic Gold and Blue Nail Art

Ahead of the month of Halloween aka October, I wanted to do something quick and simple. So I decided to use some cute gold butterfly stickers that I’ve had for a while to create a Classic Gold and Blue Nail Art design. The design was quick and easy, making it perfect ahead of the upcoming busy month.

Starting this design with a sky blue shade, I applied a few coats of Birdie Num Num by Smith & Colt. I chose this shade as I felt it would work well with the gold butterfly without being too bright or overbearing with the gold stickers.

Generally, when lifting stickers off the sheet I would normally just use my hands. However, these stickers were a little delicate and difficult to remove so I decided to use tweezers to assist with getting the sticker off the sheet. I found that I also needed to fold the sheet to encourage the sticker to lift up. Once I had managed to get the sticker off I switched back to using my hands to apply the sticker as I find that I have more control with getting the placement right than when I use tweezers.

To complete the design I added two coats of top coat.

Unfortunately, the gold didn’t last that long it started rubbing off the butterflies. However, it left behind a mix of black and gold which actually looked really nice. I almost preferred the mix of black and gold as it gave it a slightly more rustic feel.

Overall

This Classic Gold and Blue Nail Art design was really as quick as it seems. The longest part was waiting for my nail polish to dry!
