This design started out with me wanting to use some cute fruit stickers for a quick and easy design. However, it quickly turned into something quite frustrating. The end result of the design looked pretty cool but it was a challenge to make the Cute Fruit Nail Art design. Hopefully, this post helps you in case you ever come across this style of nail sticker.
Cute Fruit Nail Art
The base for this design used two coats of Gelato on my mind by OPI. This light and bright blue shade were perfect for helping the fruit to pop and wouldn’t clash too much with the fruit stickers themselves.
Once the base colour had dried I moved on to the sticker application. I cut out the individual stickers that remained stuck to the top plastic. As soon as I applied the first sticker I realised something had gone wrong as the sticker went on backwards and unfortunately I wasn’t able to remove it. Luckily it didn’t look too bad.
After re-reading the sticker instructions and a little trial and error it turns out that you are meant to treat the sticker a little like a transfer. The best process I found to apply this sticker was to cut the sticker out, remove the backing paper then pop the plastic side on my nail. Give the sticker a gentle rub which would then allow it to stick to my nail after which the plastic can be removed.
At times when removing the paper backing the sticker would remain on the backing and the top plastic layer would come off. In this case, I gently bent the paper and used tweezers to apply the sticker to my nail.
Once I got the hang of applying these stickers it wasn’t too bad of a process but definitely challenging at the beginning.
Take a look at the video below for more details on how I used these stickers:
Overall
Whilst this design really frustrated me in the beginning once I got a handle on using this different style of sticker I started to really enjoy using the stickers.
Let me know in the comments if you have used stickers like this.
