Nail Polish Review: ILNP – Love me not

ILNP - Love me not

Love me not – The Review

Welcome back! Its been quite a while since I’ve reviewed a new polish but as I work through my latest ILNP order I feel that it’s about time for a new review. I received this order about three weeks ago and have been keen to try; love me not. My polish collection certainly lacks shades of red so I was glad to add this to my collection. The timing to use this shade couldn’t have been better seeing as I had two collabs to participate in. The first collab was for any shade of red and the second was for a birthday.

Upon my first coat of love me not, I had to admit I was a little worried as the polish was quite sheer. However the minute I applied the second coat I knew I was in safe hands as the polish became more opaque. I could have gotten away with two coats but the addition of the third coat truly enhanced the colour.

When looking at the images online I imaged that this polish would have undertones of red. However, this polish actually has pink undertones depending on what lighting the polish is in. Despite this, I still love the colour and the way it shimmers in the light. I found this polish took a little longer to dry than normal however it was certainly worth the wait. Unfortunately, this did lead to one or two bumps where I accidentally knocked my nail as I had assumed the polish was dry.

After the polish was fully dry it felt strong. I applied a top coat which smoothed out the polish and enhanced the brightness of the polish. Like all ILNP polishes, this one is hard wearing. After four days there isn’t a chip in sight. It looks as good as it did on the day that I applied it.

Birthday Collaboration

The birthday collaboration called for a bright colour and love me not was perfect for the base. I decided that my Kawaii plate from bundle monster would suit the event perfectly. Selecting black for the stamp, the images popped up against the brightness of the red polish. I used Konad’s black stamping polish. After finishing my smaller bottle I was to have received the order for a new larger bottle. It’s certainly my most used colour when stamping. If I had a little more time I was planning to attempt some reverse stamping. Unfortunately, I had to stick to the basic stamped image.  I was quite happy with the end result! I loved how the bright my nails were which is perfect given the theme of the collaboration.
