This will be quite a short post as I will likely end up doubling up on my last China Glaze review. As I mentioned in my last post about China Glaze I had a major issue with quality in terms of the length of time that the mani lasted. Within a few days, my nails were incredibly chipped. Given that I have to change my nails earlier than usual this week I thought it would be the perfect chance to give China Glaze another go and see what happens without running the risk of having chipped nails at the end of the week. This time I’m trying the fabulous colour, Rodeo Fanatic.
China Glaze – Rodeo Fanatic
In the bottle the polish shifts from blue/green to purple. However, painted on my nail it holds more of a dark green colour and the shift is less obvious. Despite this, I still love the colour. Sadly the sun had begun to go down by the time I had finished painting so I couldn’t see how it shifted in natural light.
I hadn’t quite put on a top coat when I to hang out the washing. This normally wouldn’t matter and the polish wouldn’t be affected. However, I had at least 4 nails with fairly large chips. This was quite disappointing. So after touching up my nails, I didn’t hesitate to apply the top coat.
Despite applying the top coat I still managed to slightly chip my nails when making dinner, which normally wouldn’t happen even for freshly painted nails. Unfortunately this does mean that I will need to be extra careful now that I have confirmed that the polish, in general, has a major weakness.
Overall
Over my experience with China Glaze is that it’s a fun polish to play around with and wear for a few days but I wouldn’t recommend it for long-term wear. It would be a challenge to maintain designs for a full 7 days. Personally, other than the ones I already own I won’t be buying any other china glaze polishes. There are heaps of cheap polishes available that won’t let you down and won’t chip after 5 minutes of wear.
My thoughts haven’t changed much since my last review and so my overall rating of 3.2 still stands.
