Out of the nail art that I created as part of the Halloween comp, the spooky night nail art is one of my favourites. I had heaps of fun re-creating the design and I loved how it turned out.
I didn’t quite have the same blue base, so I started with a slightly different shade. Which is a shame because I really love the blue in the original design. For the sky, I used a sponge to dab on the black polish.
Spooky Night Nail Art
After setting the base I moved onto what was the hardest part of the design, the stamping. I noticed that there were some lighter stamped objects in the background. So I used a grey and stamped this part on first. I then complete the other stamping using a konad black stamping polish. I found that the trees took over a little from the smaller items such as the gravestone. However, the addition of the birds that weren’t on the original design made up for this.
Having set the base I moved onto the next challenge of creating the star sky. It wasn’t so much of a technical challenge more that I didn’t have the right supplies to achieve the same effect. I was worried that if I used glitter polishes the glitter would be too big and take over. After looking through everything I had I finally settled on one of my glitter polishes. I was careful to apply it lightly to minimise the amount of glitter given that the pieces were much larger than that of the original design.
Once I was happy I applied a few coats of clear polish to seal in my design.
Overall
I was really happy with how the spooky night nail art turned out. I feel it was pretty close to the original and I was happy with how I was able to recreate it.
