Pretty In Pink – Pink Nail Art Tutorial

I haven’t used my ILNP polishes for ages and felt that it was about time that I did! Going through my colours, Celeste for some reason jumped out at me. So I created this Pretty in Pink Nail Art Tutorial, which is different for my usual colour tones. Given the high glitter content, I decided to retry using UNT Peel off base coat. I finally found someone who had the same issue as I do, where it won’t peel off. They suggested that I try two coats. I typically only apply 1. So to play it extra safe I decided to apply 3. Hopefully, this works but I won’t know until next week, so stay tuned for that.

As I mentioned I used the peel off base coat. If you don’t have a peel-off base coat and you are using a high glitter polish I recommend soaking your nails in a makeup pad rather then trying to rub or scrub the polish off. Otherwise, you will likely damage the top of your nail. If you’re not using a polish with glitter any base coat will do. My personal favourite is OPI – Natural Base coat or OPI Start to finish. For standard base coats generally, a single coat will be enough.

I moved onto applying the base colour, ILNP – Celeste. For this design, you could apply any colour pink that you like. Celeste has a beautiful holo in it and a slight touch of purple to the colour. It’s what attracted me to select it as I’m generally not into the colour pink. Apply as many coats that are needed.

Moving onto the design part there are a few options that you can use. If you’re able you could freehand a design over the top. However, my personal favourites are to use either stickers, stencils or nail stamping.

For this design, I used the nail stamping option with plate BM-724 by Maniology. For the full steps of this part of the design check out my YouTube channel.

If you have a bright colour the nail art over the top of the colour can help to bring the brightness to a more tolerable level.

Following the application of your nail art ensure you apply a top coat.
