Blue Mountains Track | Round 2

Blue Mountains Australia

I can never get enough of the Blue Mountains so this definitely won’t be the last post on the topic. It’s such a vast area with heaps to do including a few activities that I haven’t tried myself. This visit took place with one of my best friends and my partner.

We headed off about mid-morning with the drive taking about 1.5 hours, arriving at about 11ish. My friend needed the bathroom and so we headed back in town and decided that we would also pop into a local bakery for lunch.

Lunch

The local bakery had a wide range of pies and was really busy, which I took as a good sign as it was away from the main drag. We each selected a pie, I selected a kangaroo pie. The pie was really nice, however, it was a bit salty. My partner and I also ordered a coffee which wasn’t too bad.

After finishing our pies we spotted some fresh apple juice and grabbed a bottle for after our walk.

The Walk

Having finished lunch we headed back to the park area, ready for our trek on the Princes Rock Lookout. We chose this trail as it is short and not too challenging and plus we would easily see a waterfall. If you want to check out the available tracks and their ratings take a look at the blue mountains track website.

We then moved onto our second location, a dam located about 30 minutes from our hiding spot. Unfortunately, I’ve lost the name of this place but it’s not a huge loss. To enter the area you had to pay $25 per car which given all other park spots are $8 we couldn’t justify this. So I turned around, but before fully leaving I found a spot on the edge of the road where I could park. We took a few moments to walk around and take in the stunning scenery.

Post Walk

Having worked up quite an appetite we were on the lookout for a cafe with something sweet. Given that it was 3 pm most places had already closed, so as a last resort we headed to McDonald’s for ice cream. I got a caramel Sunday and my friend had a mcflurry. I haven’t had a Sunday for years and oddly it tastes exactly as I remember it.

After finishing, we then began our journey back home.
