Step by Step Nail Art Tutorial | Into the Woods

Step by Step Nail Art Tutorial - Woodland Nail Art Design

This design started with the stamping plate. I’ve been looking at this stamping plate for a while wondering how I would use it. This weekend I was so glad as I finally decided the base colour and roughly how it would end up looking. So I created a stroll through the woods, nail art design as you will see in this step by step nail art tutorial.

The Base

For the base, I selected a Nirvana by Sinful Colors. This is a classic brown that works so well with the stamping plate. The colour was opaque in one coat. I added a second coat to ensure it would last as long as possible, especially as I find that the Sinful Colors polish chips so easily. I’m not too bothered about the chipping as it’s quite cheap making it a good polish to play with.

Maniology plate BM-608 was used for the stamping. For four of my nails, I applying the tree trunk. Adding a small amount of Konad polish to the plate I scraped it on a 45-degree angle. I think quickly picked it up with my Beauty Big Bang stamper. The clear stamper is perfect for this design as I wanted to line up the leaves. Quickly, I added the image to each nail.

Wanting to create an accent nail I added the footprint stamp to the middle nail. This broke up the design a little and added interesting character to the design.

Over the top of the tree, I added the leaves. Originally starting out with a dark green I found that this was too dark to be seen. So instead I used MDU 52 Lemon Tree, a bright green, to create the leaves. Luckily I was able to stamp right over the top of the dark leaf so it didn’t affect the design too much.

After finishing each leaf, I added a top coat to complete the design.
