Star Sign Nail Art | (plus Maniology discount code)

This week started out wanting to do something simple and not too overly complicated. So I started with my ILNP base and added on some maniology stickers to create some star sign nail art.

The Base – ILNP

I knew that I wanted to use one of my ILNP polishes to add that that something extra to my design. At this stage, I wasn’t sure if I would be using decals or nail stamping. I ended up selecting ILNP Salem. This is a very dark green that in some lights looks purple and in other lights, the polish looks black. Part of the reason for selecting this shade is that it has been quite a while since I’ve used it.

I applied 3 coats of Salem for full opacity. That’s really the only downside of the ILNP polishes is that they generally take 3-4 coats to become opaque.

Star Sign Nail Art

My choice of nail art was largely influenced by the dark shade of Salem. I knew that something bright and shiny would work best to contrast against the dark green. I picked out a few of my sticker sheets and the Maniololgy Star Sign sticker sheet M.R086 (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology). I used these stickers recently in my swatch of A Kiss on the Chic by OPI as part of the hello kitty collection. The silver colour of the stickers contrasted really well against the colour.

I know I’ve said this before in other posts but I really love using nail decals and stickers as they are quick to apply and make it super easy to create awesome designs.
