Blue Glamour Nails | Full Nail Art Tutorial

Blue Glamour Nails - Pretty Blue Nail Art

I was feeling like creating a theme for the next few weeks. With limited holidays around this time of year, I sometimes find that I get a little stuck on ideas. So I created my own theme, glamour nails. I want to make these designs easy to follow so they can be done by anyone. I will try to include a range of colours, meaning not just pink and white! For this first design, I’ve created Blue Glamour Nails.

To start I applied a few coats of OPI – Alpine Snow on my pointer finger and OPI – Dreams need Clara-fiction, a light blue polish applied to my remaining nails.

Once this dried I moved onto the next step to create two accent nails. The first accent nail used a coat of OPI – Let Love Sparkle. This is a very light blue shimmery polish. In the bottle, it looks very dark, so I expected that it would be a 1-2 coater. However, I soon discovered it’s really sheer. So I wasn’t too impressed with this polish at first. I decided to give it another go over the top of Dreams need Clara-fiction and I fell in love with it again. The light blue base gave the perfect colour so that the prettiness of Let Love Sparkle shine through.

For the second accent nail, I stamped on some arrow shapes using Maniology plate BM-604 (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology). This needed a little more tweaking as the last two arrows were a little shorter than my nail. It wasn’t really designed to be used in the way I was using the design. But I made it work using Konad Silver so that this nail would tie in with the sparkly blue accent nail.

Once this was done I added a few layers of topcoat.

Overall

This design was super easy and fun to create. The colours and accent nails can be changed up to anything you like. Especially if you’re trying to match your nails to an outfit. If you haven’t stamped before you could also try some freehand or nail stickers on the accent nail.

Let me know in the comments what colours you would use.

Stay tuned for next week’s glamour design, which will be part two of the series.
