Silver and Black Glamorous Nails | Easy DIY Nail Art

Black and Silver fancy nail art

Part 2 of this series starts out with wanting to do a different colour away from typical pink, blue or white shades so I decided to go with black. I wasn’t sure where I was going with this design so I started with the black polish and went from there to eventually create Silver and Black Glamorous Nails.

The Base

I started this design with OPI – Lady in Black. For a black, this polish is really sheer on the first coat so it’s not my favourite polish. However, on the second coat, it does build up nicely so it’s not too bad.

Starting with black is pretty bold as it really limits the colours that can be added on top. Looking through my polishes I remembered that I have supper sparkly black glitter polish called Sloane Square by Nails Inc, which would go perfectly with this. However, I didn’t want full glitter on all of my nails as it would be a little too over the top. So I did a little experiment to see if I could stamp with the glitter polish. To my surprise, it worked!!

After this little discovery, I knew exactly what design I would do. On each nail except for 1, I stamped a pattern on each nail using Maniology Stamping plate BM-604 (this is the same plate that I used last week – get 10% off Maniology with my code THENAILCHRONCILE). For the accent nail, I just applied the glitter over the top of the black polish.

Tips to remove glitter polish

For this design, I do wish that thought a little more ahead and especially for the nail that has full glitter on it. As soon as I knew what my design I should have just taken the polish off the accent nail and applied a peel-off base coat. However, I decided to just go with it and so here I am trying to remove the glitter nail polish.

The best way to remove glitter polish is to take it really slowly and be gentle. If you’re rough you can damage your nails. The approach I prefer to take is to get a make-up remover pad and soak it in some nail polish remover. I then wrap this around my nail and leave it sitting there for a few minutes. After this, I try and remove some of the Polish as gently as I can. Repeating the process until the polish has been removed.

Overall

This design is up there with one of my favourites. I absolutely love the Glitter over the top of the black and think it has a really cool effect. It’s a great design for any nighttime event or just to add a little bit of sparkle in your life let me know in the comments if you try something like this or how you make this design your own.Black and Silver Glamour Nail Art
