Leura NSW – Part 2 of an adventure to Bathurst

Scramled Egg on Toast - Piccolo's on William in Bathurst

This continues on from part 1 of my Bathurst trip where we headed down the Blue Mountains towards Leura NSW. I recommend checking that post out as well, although this can be read on its own.

Perthville and Farmers Markets

The last day started with breakfast at Piccolo’s on William. This is a very hipster style cafe. My partner ordered a big breaky which was great as it meant that I could steal his egg (he doesn’t like it). I combined that with some peanut butter toast which turned out to be a great combo (don’t ask I was just craving protein this whole weekend lol)!

In our googling to find things to do, we discovered that there is a town called Perthville which wasn’t too far out of the way so we had to check it out as both my partner and I grew up in Perth. Perthville was a tiny little town which only had a small petrol station with a post office attached. Still, we got a picture of the sign which was awesome and then made our way to a nearby farmers market.

I managed to get a really good bargain as the market was about to finish. I grabbed a giant cabbage (one of the biggest I have ever seen) and two butternut pumpkins for AUD$5. Because it was so fresh they lasted quite a while!!

Down the mountain to Leura NSW

As we make out way down the mountain we stopped at Bridal Veil Lookout. We couldn’t really do any of the walking tracks as they were all closed due to the floods. We just made the best of it enjoying the view and exploring the local streets a little.

For our last food stop, we popped into Cafe Leura which was filled with amazing food. I think we all had a little food envy of each other’s dishes. I will definitely be back again!

We even grabbed a cheeky coffee for the road to get us through the drive back home.

And that ends another awesome road trip!! Just because you can’t travel overseas doesn’t mean you can’t go on an awesome adventure!

If you haven’t go book a road trip even a spontaneous one just for the weekend. It will help to recharge your batteries and satisfy that travel bug!
