Spring Nail Design | Easy Nail Art tutorial

I wanted to create some spring/summer vibes this week to create a distraction from all the rain we’ve been having. So I decided to create something that was nature-themed. I wasn’t sure if I was going to focus on plants or animals but figured I would start out with a base shade and see how my design goes from there to create this simple Spring Nail Design.

The Base

I wanted to start out with something light and not too heavy so that I could add some bright pastel colours over the top. Tickle my France-y by OPI hit the mark for this design. I won’t go into too much detail here, because I have a full swatch video below:

Spring Nail Design – All the spring and summer vibes

I initially thought to add some butterflies to my nails but it just wasn’t working. I was struggling to pick up the images with my clear stamper, and after switching to my solid I was able to pick up the images but could clean them up and apply them to my nails without it drying before I had the chance to apply the image to my nails. So I decided to swap stamping plates to Maniology choose your own M095, a cute plate filled with tropical-themed plants (use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology).

To add the pop of pastel colour, I went with three different shades all from hit the bottle:

  • Arctic Cloudberry – a light sherbety blue
  • Ice Mauve-jito 2.0 – a beautiful light purple
  • Peppermint Zombie – a cute light green

I interchanged the colours and images on each nail.

Once I was happy I added my usual Maniology Smudge-free topcoat and a clear topcoat.

Overall

This design was super quick and I love the spring vibes. It was such a nice way to forget about the constant rain for a while.

Next week I’m thinking to create an early St Patricks design!!

Stay safe!
