Unicorns and Cupcakes Nail Art | Reverse Stamping with Maniology Discount

Unicorns and Cupcakes Nail Art

This design started with St Patricks Day but it seems I had other ideas!! With ended up turning into a pastel Unicorns and Cupcakes Nail Art design. There will definitely be a St Patrick’s Day design next week!

The Base

For the base, I knew that I wanted green but wasn’t sure which one I would use. Eventually, I landed on Glam Polish Alohomora! I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this polish.

I love the colour and the shimmer. But I hate how long it takes to dry and how it stays soft for so long meaning it damages really easily.

I applied three coats of this polish, allowing as much time as possible for each coat to dry.

After the base had finally dried I moved on to the reverse stamping. It was at this point that I decided to do a Unicorns and Cupcakes Nail Art instead of St Patrick’s Day.

I chose a selection of images from the Maniology plate NailedThePolish (BM-XL214) and added them to my stamping mat.

The images I selected included mostly smaller sized images but I also chose two full-sized, one for each hand.

For the reverse stamping I used Hit the Bottle Stamping polishes:

  • Lemon Meringue (yellow)
  • Arctic Cloudberry (blue) and
  • Iced Mauve-jito (purple)

I’ll be using these polishes over the next few weeks especially as it gets closer to Easter.

It wasn’t till after I had finished the reverse stamping that I realised I was one image short. I decided to not create another as I had a feeling that one of the longer images would be able to be split up. Luckily the set of three stars worked perfectly for this.

With each image filled in, I applied a maniology smudge-free top coat. Once dry I used tweezers to lift each image and place it on my nail. Don’t worry if the clear polish is cloudy. Mine did this but it cleared up once I placed it on my nail.

To finish off the design I added a clear top-coat.

Overall

I love how cute this design is! It’s not what I had planned but that’s ok. Stay tuned for next week when there will be a St Pat’s day design. I promise!

In the meantime take a look at my past posts:
