Harmony Day Nail Art | Orange Themed Nails

Harmony Week Nail Art

This week is harmony week, a week “to celebrate Australian multiculturalism and the successful integration of migrants into our community”. The colour theme for the event is orange and people are encouraged to wear an orange shirt to mark the event. I don’t own any orange shirts, so instead, I decided to create some orange themed Harmony Day Nail Art. This is another design where I have applied the colour with no idea what nail art I would add. I only knew that this would definitely need some nail art as orange clashes with my skin tone.

OPI – The IT Color

I only own one regular orange polish (I also have a super bright orange stamping polish) that I purchased with the intent of creating some cute bumble bee nail art.

The IT Color is a darkish orange that has quite a thin formula. But not so thin that it requires heaps of coats to become opaque. Rather it works to the advantage of the polish allowing it to dry really quickly. The first coat comes off as quite streaky. After two more coats, the streakiness disappears.

Coming up with some suitable nail art was tough. However, I eventually select some Kawaii heart emoji’s from Maniology plate BM-XL324 (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology).

To keep the design simple I stuck with just some plain black stamping polish. I also didn’t want to add any more bright colours to an already bright base shade.

I nearly damaged one of the nails of my right hand (image above) but luckily it was soft enough that I was able to rescue it. I quickly applied the smudge-free topcoat followed by a quick-dry topcoat. Tip, if your find that your nail polish is still soft adding a quick dry top coat can help to harden it and add some protection until it is fully dry.

Overall

Overall I actually prefer the left-hand design as the tea design balance the love hearts. However, it’s still cute!

Let me know in the comments, do you think I hit the mark with these Harmony Day Nail Art??
