Autumn Nail Art | Design Attempt 2 for 2022

I’ve been a little blocked on what design I wanted to create, hence why there was no blog/video last week. Sometimes a break is needed to restore the creative juices. I can’t say that they have fully returned. But I was keen to get back into it. I created this design whilst watching Eurovision 2022. Yes, that meant a 5 am wake up but it was so worth it! It’s become a bit of a tradition to do my nails whilst watching Eurovision. I wasn’t 100% happy with the last Autumn Nail Art design that I created a few weeks back. So I wanted to retry again with the same stamping plate.

The Base

The first thing that I wanted to change from the last design was the base colour as I felt that it was too dark. So this time I went with a lighter brown, Nirvana by Sinful colours. This shade was originally purchased for chocolate reverse stamping but it’s come in handy for a number of designs.

After 2 coats the shade was pretty dark but I was hopeful that it would be light enough for the design.

Autumn Nail Art

For the Autumn Nail Art, I used Maniology stamping plate M164 (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off at Maniology).

I started with a few images on the stamping mat that I wanted to reverse stamp using a black stamping polish Stuck on You by Hit the Bottle.

This was followed up by a few plain images using a Tree of Life by BMC (aka maniology) and an orange, Geranium by MDU.

I also added a few dark green leaves and some words in orange to both hands. For the larger images that I had reversed stamped I cut these into two pieces so that I could use them to cover more nails. I added a little extra stamping to one of the split images as it was looking like it was missing something. For the pumpkin image that used a black outline and orange filling, I was really surprised that this had worked. I was so worried that I would just end up with black pumpkins that I avoided it. It ended up being my favourite image.

Autumn Nail Art

Overall

This design was certainly a learning journey, especially working out which colours I could use to create something awesome. There are still a few things that I would change for next time but overall I’m happy with how this Autumn Nail Art Design turned out.

Let me know what you enjoy about Autumn/Fall?

Don’t forget to use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology.
