Glow in the dark nail art – New Years Nail Art 2019

Happy New Year!! I know it’s a few days way but New Year’s Eve will be here before we know it. This year will be a lot quieter than last year as I will be having a bbq at home! For this year’s design, I am using one of my Christmas presents, a set of glow in the dark nail polish to create glow in the dark nail art. I was so excited to try these out as it been something that I’ve been wanting to try for ages and New Year’s is the perfect excuse to use them.

I started out with Guerlain, 007 Black Perfecto for the base colour. I find black is such a classic new year’s colour and can be dressed up with bright colours or glitters.

I was contemplating how to apply the glow in the dark polish. I originally thought to stamp on an image, unfortunately, it didn’t show up very well. After a few tests, I settled with placing the polish over the top of the black. It changes the colour slightly but as it dried it wasn’t as noticeable. The colour difference could only be noticed if you look really close.

Using green, pink and orange, I moved onto stamping images across each nail using my new year’s plate, BM-S212. I’ve been wanting to get a new years plate for a while and grabbed this when I purchased my new Christmas plates from Maniology.

Overall

Even if the glow in the dark nail art doesn’t work I love how these nails turned out. I’m ready to bring in the new year!
