My games nail art design ended up completely different from what I had in my head but that’s ok because the final result is pretty cool. I had a lot of people ask if my design was a racing theme, which isn’t quite what I had in mind. After it was pointed out I completely see why people were asking that.

The Design – Games Nail Art
The 20 for $20 pack from Maniology I received is where this design began. I set out trying to come up with a design that would use the teen-themed plate BM-P103. I was originally thinking about using a few of the smaller images. However, then I thought of something different. After spotting the checked box I remembered that I had some diamond and club-shaped decals. So I set about creating a board game themed design. Although as noted in the intro, the checked box looked more like a racing flag then a chess board. So this changed into a racing flag and card game themed nail design.
The Base
I started this design with the white polish that came with the decals. This polish was pretty opaque considering it’s white and from K-mart. It took 3 coats to become fully opaque which in my experience is pretty normal for a white polish. The polish itself was fairly smooth and went on evenly. I was really surprised at how good this polish was.
Race Flags and Card Games Nail Art
I started with the stamping, using konad black polish to create the racing flags, taking care to ensure that the image would cover the entire nail. It would look odd if I had parts of the image missing. I wasn’t too bothered if little parts in the middle were missing but definitely didn’t want large sections to be missing from the nail.
After allowing the stamping to dry I moved onto adding the foam decals. I like these decals as they are flexible and can be bent to the shape of the nail. I applied a thick coat of clear polish and popped on a decal. To ensure it ended up as flat as possible I used a pair of tweezers to flatten it down while the polish dried.
Overall
I had such good feedback for this design. It was fun and exciting with a cool classic black and white colour base. My only issue with this is when the decals started lifting they would catch my hair, which was rather painful. I’m a little inspired to create a full-on racing design, so keep an eye out for this.
