For this design, I wanted to keep it simple so that anyone could do with limited equipment so I created this beginner Christmas nail art design. There is no need for a steady hand or stamping plates for this candy cane design. If you give this a go, let me know in the comments or tag my IG account, @theNailChronicle

The Base
Starting this design I firstly applied the accent nail using ILNP – Love me not. This red polish has a slight sparkle making perfect for this Christmas design. For the other nails, I used a sparkly white polish.
For this design, you can use any colours that you like. I prefer either green or red polish so that it looks like a candy cane.
Beginner Christmas Nail Art – Candy Cane
For this next step, I used coloured tape. You could also use painters tape that is trimmed to the right thickness or french manicure strips.
Before applying the tape ensure that the base colour is 100% dry. If the polish is slightly wet the tape will pull it off. If you’re not sure if your nails are fully dry, it’s best to wait a little while longer just to be sure.
Apply the strips to create the desired thickness for each stripe. Carefully apply the polish between each line. As soon as the polish has been applied, remove the strips so that the polish doesn’t get pulled up when removing the strip.
Apply a top coat when you have completed each nail.
Overall
I loved how quick this design was. It was easy to do and looked very Christmasy.
