This New Year’s Nail Art design almost ended in disaster after accidentally knocking over my nail polish remover! I had just finished the design and was doing a cleanup. The remover landed on the carpet and my stamping mat. I was most worried about the carpet and so I quickly began cleaning the carpet without worrying about my nails. The carpet survived luckily! I think my stamping mat is ok but only time will tell. For the design, I used a new polish that I received for Christmas to create a bright design.

The Base
I used Butter London, Molly Coddled a bright purple shade that would work well with the black and silver that I was planning to use for the stamping. The polish goes on very smooth and is easy to apply. I’ll write up a full review in a few weeks on this polish. Keep an eye out for this.
Adding New Year’s Nail Art Cheer
For the next stage, I used plate, BM-S212 by Maniology. This is the only new year’s stamping plate that I have. With so many images on this plate, I’m not too worried that I only have the one plate.
I applied several images on my stamping mat using Konad black stamping polish. I also added some plain text to the middle finger on both hands. Once happy I picked up a dotting tool without any polish on it. I gently moved it around the images to remove the excess from the images. (I used the Beauty Big Bang stamping mat, you get one here.)
Using Konad silver I filled in parts of the images and left them to sit for a while. I then applied OPI start to finish to each image. As the images started to dry using tweezers I carefully lifted the images, applying them to my nails. If the image seems to be stuck to the mat in parts as you lift it, pop it back down and wait a while for it to dry a little more.
Don’t forget to add a final topcoat to your design to ensure that it remains protected.
Overall
Unfortunately, the silver polish moved as I applied the image despite it coming off the mat cleaning. Despite this, I’m still happy with how this turned out.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year. Let me know in the comments if you have done any New Year’s Nail Art or what you are planning to do this new year’s eve.
