ILNP Beach House – Nail Polish Review

ILNP Beach House

I have been writing more tutorials lately, so this week I felt like writing a nail polish review. I selected one of my favourite indie polish brands ILNP to review their polish Beach House.

ILNP Beach House

Knowing that this polish is quite opaque, I decided to apply a base colour. Trying to keep with the green/blue colour of Beach House, I used one of my favourite blues, Rich Girls and Po Boys. I felt this bright blue would work to enhance Beach House. As I would be adding a few layers of Beach House, I decided to only apply one base layer.

As soon as the base colour had dried, I added a thin layer of Beach House. On the first touch of the polish, you could see the magical holo specks taking effect. The polish dried pretty quickly, and so to enhance the colour I decided to add a second layer.

So much holo!

In pretty much all light, the holo shines brightly with the beautiful rainbow effect. As I move my hand around the shifting colours from the holo pieces, look like the water moving in the ocean. The colour of the base has been transformed from an almost sky blue to a green/blue ocean colour.

The holo flecks blend nicely into the polish, creating a smooth finish and that was before I had added a topcoat. The polish feels strong and from experience, I know that it will last a long time.

Overall – 4/5

The only downside for this polish would be the sheerness. To obtain full opacity I would have to add a huge amount of layers or add a base colour as I have done in this case. By adding the base colour it does change the final result slightly. This does have the positive of being able to use the same colour with a wide variety of different results.
