Doctor Who Nail Art | Nail Stamping

Doctor Who - Blue Nail Art

I have created a few variations of Doctor Who nail art in the past so it’s great to be giving this theme another go. I’ve kept this design more simple than my past designs but it was still fun to create.

The Base

Keeping with the blue Doctor Who theme I selected Caribbean Sky by a company called Mud. This is a shiny blue that could be used in ocean designs. I know that this polish chips pretty easily but given that I’m stuck at home I wasn’t too concerned.

The polish is highly opaque, where you could get away with just a single coat. Of course, I applied two coats.

Doctor Who Nail Art

Using stamping plate LE 105 I applied a Doctor Who image to each nail. This is the same plate that I used for my Mario Kart and Star Wars Nails. For the cybermen I did try using a grey polish, L’Oreal Paris – 672 Gris Decadent, but felt it was just too light against the strong blue so I switched back to using my standard black stamping polish. Surprisingly it still showed up in my photos.

After allowing the design to dry I added a topcoat to protect the design. My polish managed to last about 3 days before chipping, which for this brand isn’t too bad. I’m not too worried about the chipping as the polish is very cheap.

Overall

This was a fun design to do and by keeping it simple it was quick as well.

I was surprised that the grey Cyber-Man still showed up in the photos. I’m so glad he didn’t fade away.

    1. I got this from a polish pick up sale, there were only 100 made. The plate had other monsters from star wars, mario kart etc.
This is who made the plate: https://www.instagram.com/itgirlnailart/

I really wish there are more doctor who plates! Another option is to look for some water decals or stickers. I’ve had some luck with that before.
